Another state government office for Joondalup CBD!
- Department of Communities office to be moved to Joondalup CBD
- Construction started, expected to be completed early next year.
Locals have been watching with interest the changes happening on a former basketball stadium site at Lot 701, Collier Pass in Joondalup.
The site is opposite Lakeside Shopping Centre, and close to Joondalup Station.
Building works began earlier this year on a state government department office at this location.
The new Department of Communities office will be home to over 160 staff, and will allow frontline workers across disability services, child protection, family services, and housing, to operate and deliver important services from one location.
Emily Hamilton MLA, Member for Joondalup, recently visited the site with Hon Sabine Winton MLA, Minister for Community Services.
The fit-out of the building is expected to be completed in 2024.
Department of Communities is the second state government department to be based in Joondalup – making use of the infrastructure and facilities one expects of the second CBD of Perth.
Comments attributed to Emily Hamilton:
“I’m pleased to see another state government department in Joondalup.
“Joondalup is Perth's second CBD servicing the northern corridor, and continues to see significant investment by our WA Government.”
