“It’s great to see the level of engagement in this latest webinar on Ocean Reef Marina – by continuing the conversation with our community we can ensure that everybody who is interested in this project has the opportunity to ask questions and have their views heard.

A recent community webinar on the new Ocean Reef Marina proved highly popular with local residents, who took part in the interactive online session with the DevelopmentWA project team.
The online event offered residents and interested stakeholders the opportunity to hear from the project team about the progress of early works on the transformational development, and the next steps.
Upcoming works at Ocean Reef Marina include the completion of the Hodges Drive extension, and preparations for the construction of two breakwaters, using up to 800,000 tonnes of limestone sourced from DevelopmentWA’s limestone quarry at Neerabup.
Attendees also had the opportunity to provide feedback and ask a range of questions of the project team, who were available to respond live.
Through a question on the future of the coastal path, the attendees learnt that during works a temporary path will be put in place, while the marina design includes new permanent coastal paths through the marina, connecting with the existing paths to the north and south.
Work is well underway at Ocean Reef Marina, with the project expected to generate more than 8,600 jobs during the construction phase.
Once operational, the Marina will create than 900 ongoing jobs and inject more than $3 billion into the Western Australian economy.
The webinar marks a further demonstration of the State Government’s commitment to involving the local community in the planning and development of the long-awaited waterfront precinct.
Community members who were unable to attend can find further information at http://developmentwa.com.au/oceanreefmarina or attend the Ocean Reef Marina community event on Sunday 22 November.
