- New facility for more than 1200 Ocean Reef Senior High School students
Joondalup MP Emily Hamilton is excited to see further investment at Ocean Reef Senior High School with construction to commence later this year on the new $5 million sports hall.
This is in addition to the $5 million performing arts centre that was opened by Premier McGowan in September 2020.
Emily Hamilton MLA has revealed schematic images for the new facility, designed by Western Australian architectural firm, Cox Architecture Pty Ltd.
The state-of-the-art sports facility will be constructed next to the school’s newly-built performing arts centre.
The new hall will include sports courts, change rooms, toilets and equipment storage space. It will allow the school to cater for growing enrolments by relieving pressure on existing physical education facilities.
The upgrade will create around 18 jobs with construction expected to start in October 2021. The sports hall will be ready for use at the start of the 2023 school year.
This project is part of the McGowan Government’s Recovery Program investing $492.2 million for upgrades and refurbishments at public schools around Western Australia.
