MP pleased to see community consultation open on Heathridge Park redevelopment

  • Community consultation now open on redevelopment of Heathridge Park.
  • Member for Joondalup, Emily Hamilton MLA, pleased to see City of Joondalup progressing with consultation on the redevelopment of Heathridge Park.
  • $2.5 million of WA State Government funding already committed to the project.

Emily Hamilton MLA, Member for Joondalup, is pleased to see that the City of Joondalup is progressing the redevelopment of Heathridge Park, with the community consultation process on proposed upgrades recently commencing.

The facilities at Heathridge Park are some of the oldest in the City of Joondalup. Significant investment is required to ensure that clubs and groups can continue to grow their membership and provide adequate facilities to support the growth of women in sport.

Ms Hamilton, along with local community and sporting groups agree that the ageing infrastructure at Heathridge Park does not meet the needs of our growing community.

With increased participation in our local sporting and community organisations, as well as more women participating in sport, it is important to have local community and sporting facilities that support the ambitions of our community.

Ms Hamilton would like to see the City of Joondalup endorse a redevelopment plan that meets the needs of one of the fastest growing regions of Australia, for generations to come.

That is why, in 2021, Joondalup MP Emily Hamilton secured $2.5 million in funding from the WA Labor Government to support the redevelopment.

With the opening of the community consultation process on 25 July, Emily Hamilton MLA, is calling for local residents to share their views on the proposed redevelopment of Heathridge Park.

Community Consultation on the proposed redevelopment of Heathridge Park closes on 14 August 2024. Submissions and further information about the project can be found: https://www.joondalup.wa.gov.au/heathridge-park-concept-designs?nocache=true

Comments attributed to Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton:

“The State Labor Government has already delivered $2.5 million in funding to support multi-generational community facility, that is truly fit for purpose for years to come.”

“The views of local residents are critical in shaping the redevelopment of Heathridge Park, and I call on residents to share their views with the City of Joondalup.
