• The two-stage project is to extend the right turning pocket on Eddystone Avenue, reduce the radius of the left turn pockets and install skid resistance on its north and south legs. The project also includes upgrading street lighting in the area.

Member for Joondalup, Emily Hamilton MLA, said today that safety at the intersection of Ocean Reef Road and Eddystone Avenue in Beldon will be improved under the latest round of State Black Spot Program funding.

The two-stage project is to extend the right turning pocket on Eddystone Avenue, reduce the radius of the left turn pockets and install skid resistance on its north and south legs. The project also includes upgrading street lighting in the area.

The full cost to be funded by the State Government is $230,000 and stage one, which costs $30,000 and is funded in the 2019/20 State Black Spot Program, includes project design.

The program targets improvements to roads with a proven crash history and cost-effective treatments for high-risk intersections. It aims to further improve road safety across the State, reducing the significant trauma and suffering of crash victims and their loved ones.
