A re-elected McGowan Labor Government will deliver $40,000 for Community Vision to purchase two electric bicycles.

Community Vision would like to provide the bicycle outings for older people or those living with dementia.

It is important for the well-being of these groups to get out and about in the fresh air and to see other people. Individuals can take a ride as passengers on safe bicycle tracks.

The centre would like to offer the bicycles to the wider community as part of a social connection program.

The funding will provide two specially designed, three-wheel bicycles which have a passenger seat in front. The cost of additional fitout, including passenger blankets and covers will be included.

Comments by Emily Hamilton MLA, Member for Joondalup:

“Community Vision is a fantastic organisation that has been looking after people for over 20 years.

“This funding provides another way Community Vision can offer support and services to members of our local community.”
